Be adventurous at Laziza Mediterranean Grill

Walk under the green-striped canopy and enter the exotic food restaurant of Laziza Mediterranean Grill. It's no ordinary food joint with burgers and fries. This place has pizzazz! From chicken shawarma and falafel to baklava and crepes, this restaurant will have your taste buds soaring. "It's fast and casual," Nader Khatib, co-owner of Laziza Mediterranean Grill, explained about the restaurant. Khatib and his business parter, Leigh Fletcher, are new to the restaurant business, but the service is friendly and the food is delicious. The grill serves Greek, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, vegetarian and vegan dishes. Everything is made fresh to order. The establishment does catering, too, and is in the process of getting a food truck by August. "My favorite thing on the menu is the chicken shawarma," Khatib said. Enter the room and your senses will ignite. The delicious smell of chicken shawarma - slow roasted chicken on a vertical broiler - will have your mouth watering with anticipation. Don't forget to order one of the four choices of home-made hummus. Everything that comes on a platter in this restaurant also comes as a wrap. Laziza Mediterranean Grill opened on Sept. 13, 2011, with the mind-set of expanding the adventurous palate of locals who like to try new cuisines. Come check it out at the Publix shopping center at 4272 Washington Road, Suite 5A, in Evans from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and on Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
