If Haas is to win, he'll have to buck a 37-year trend

Leading after the first round of the Masters Tournament hasn't been a good thing for most golfers the past 37 years. Only one player who held the lead by himself in that span has gone on to win the tournament - Ben Crenshaw, 1984.

Seve Ballesteros (1980) and Trevor Immelman (2008) were tied for the first-round lead when they each went on to claim the green jacket.

Last year, Adam Scott was tied for 10th after the first round before he eventually claimed his first Masters.

Since 1990, only two players came from outside the top 30 after the opening 18 holes to win the tournament. Ian Woosnam was tied for 31st when he won in 1991, while Tiger Woods rallied from a tie for 33rd place in 2005 to claim his fourth Masters title.
