Phil Mickelson to keep major advice secret - for awhile

Phil Mickelson credits short-game guru Dave Pelz with giving him some insight that helping Mickelson win his frst major championship.

Phil Mickelson is looking forward to sharing his secret on breaking through and winning a major tournament.

In late 2003, Dave Pelz spoke with Mickelson and gave him some insight. Mickelson went on to win his first of four majors, the 2004 Masters Tournament. Now, he wants to tell others what he knows, but he’s going to wait awhile.

“I’m going to wait to say that until my career is over,” he said.

Mickelson is seeking to join Arnold Palmer and Tiger Woods with four green jackets with a win this week. When asked what it would mean to him, Mickelson responded, “A lot.”

When asked to expand on his answer, Mickelson gave a light-hearted response.

“An awful lot,” he said.
