Seven-month-old Skylar Horschel caddied in the Par-3 Contest for her father, Billy, during her first trip to the Masters Tournament – or the second time if you ask her mother.

“Last year, I was pregnant. This is your second time here technically,” Brittany Horschel whispered to her cradled daughter.

Dressed in a miniature white caddie suit, Skylar carried a baby teether instead of a golf bag. She posed for a photo with her father at the practice putting green on the Par-3 Course.

“It’s exciting at this point to have a couple of hours when we can forget about the tournament and just have family time,” Billy Horschel said.

The Par-3 Contest has become a family tradition for many golfers. This year, several babies born in the past year joined the caddie corps with their mothers and siblings, some old enough to run around the greens and push golf balls around with putters.

Matt Every’s 18-week-old baby girl, Quinn, was peeking out of a white sun bonnet but her mother, Danielle, chose to skip the caddie suit as temperatures reached the high 80s. Quinn’s mother held her in a baby carrier and had a golf bag slung over her shoulder.

“She’s easy. He’s the hard one,” she said about her toddler, Liam.

Many mothers chose to keep their babies out of the hot weather. Bubba Watson’s newly adopted daughter, Dakota, and Dustin Johnson’s son, Tatum, were both absent from the competition.

Patrick Reed’s 10-month-old daughter, Windsor-Wells, donned a caddie suit and a large green hair bow for the contest.

Rosalind Schwartzel, wife of Masters champion Charl Schwartzel, said it was simple to dress her daughter, Olivia, 20 months, in her caddie suit that was adorned with ruffles on the bottom. She carried a sippy cup of water and waddled to her father’s arms on the ninth green.

“It’s good memories. Not that she’ll remember it but we will,” Olivia’s mother said, adding that nap time followed the golf round.
