Justin Rose can’t make Thursday’s opening round disappear, but his past two rounds have given him a boost.

After shooting 76 on the first day, Rose followed with Friday’s 70 and an eagle-aided 69 on Saturday and goes into the final round 1-under.

“I haven’t really thought about it (the 76), because it is what it is, so you can’t do much about it,” Rose said.

The reigning U.S. Open champion helped his third round with eagles at Nos. 3 and 13. With another eagle at No. 8 on Friday, Rose is the only player with three eagles this Masters Tournament.

“Hit driver off the tee, wedged it up. It’s a blind shot, but obviously I could tell by the crowd that it went in,” he said about the first Saturday eagle. “(No.) 13, I hit a great drive, drew driver around the corner. Hit an awesome 4-iron at the pin, which began to funnel a bit to the right, but made about a 25-footer there for an eagle.

“Couple bits of crystal coming my way.”
