Ben Crenshaw ponders Masters retirement

Two-time Masters champion Ben Crenshaw's days might be numbered as a participant at Augusta National Golf Club.

The 60-year-old Crenshaw will be playing in his 41st consecutive Masters beginning Thursday. A winner in 1984 and 1995, Crenshaw has missed the cut in 12 of the past 14 Masters, making the cut in 2006 and 2007.

"I thnk about it a lot; I don't think it will be very long (until he retires from Masters competition)," Crenshaw said. "It's just a chore getting around (the 7,435-yard Augusta National).

"I'm having fun being part of it," he said. "I'm fortunate to be a part of it for this long."

When he does retire from Masters competition, Crenshaw will no doubt return for the Tuesday night Champions Dinner, where he became the master of ceremonies since Byron Nelson died in 2006.
