Gallacher gets a spot in the Masters
Stephen Gallacher, of Scotland, is expected to be the only player who will get into the Masters Tournament field via the Official World Golf Ranking released today.
The Masters takes golfers who are ranked in the top 50 the week before the tournament. Gallacher, thanks to a win earlier this year at the Dubai Desert Classic, will make his Masters debut.
Chesson Hadley and Ryan Palmer had opportunities to crack the top 50 with strong performances at the Valero Texas Open, but both faltered Sunday. Hadley shot 80 and Palmer had 82.
A win at the PGA Tour stop in Houston this week will earn an automatic invitation and is the last chance to get in the Masters.
