Historical pin placement for today's second round
A new pin placement will greet golfers today at No. 5. For the first time in Masters history, the pin is below the shelf on the right-hand side. The pin, which sits seven yards from the front and five yards from the right, should be easy for players to attack. Players recorded just five birdies at No. 5 in the first round. Expect much more today.
Also, the par-3 16th hole could provide plenty of excitement today as pin placements appear to be a bit more friendly for golfers today.
At No. 16, the pin is tucked in the back left, a good spot for players to attack. Keep an eye on that hole. Players posted just nine birdies at No. 16 on Thursday. Expect that number to grow today.
The other three par-3 holes all have relatively benign pin placements. At No. 4, the pin is just behind the bunker toward the middle right of the green. At No. 6, the pin is in the back left and shouldn't be difficult for the players. At No. 12, the pin is in the middle behind the bunker. Don't expect many, if any, water balls.
