Patrons awed by Spieth's start
Leader Jordan Spieth made the turn still alone in the lead at 11-under thanks to a 33 on the front nine.
His continued success has drawn even more patrons to follow his round, like a little boy who maneuvered near the front of the ropes at No. 9.
"Who are you pulling for?" the man next to him asked.
"Jordan."
"Oh man. I don't blame you."
Spieth started the day 8-under and birdied Nos. 2, 5 and 8. The 21-year-old got to 10-under on the par-4 No. 5 with an 18-foot putt.
"Double digits!" a patron said.
Spieth somehow birdied No. 8 despite getting stuck in a bunker on his first shot. He almost added another birdie on 9, but he missed an 8-foot putt.
