Today's pin placements
A lot of golfers are struggling at No. 1 just to make par today. There's a good reason for that. The pin is tucked in the back right, 15 feet from the edge in two directions. Golfers can't get too aggressive or they'll face a difficult chip shot from just off the green.
Don't expect a lot of birdies at the par-3 sixth hole today, either. The pin is placed in the back right on top of the shelf. Golfers will be hitting to a very small portion of the green.
The par-5 eighth will play long with the pin all the way back on the left side, 39 yards from the front of the green.
Amen Corner will present its challenges as well. At No. 11, the pond will guard the pin, which sits six yards from the left edge of the green. At No. 12, the pin appears to be in the Sunday position - on the right side of the green. The par-5 13th hole should provide plenty of birdie chances, with the pin in the front right.
At No. 16, the pin sits in the back right on top of the shelf.
At the par-4 18th, golfers will face a long shot to the pin in the back left, 30 yards from the front.
