Watching old Masters highlights is cool part of job

One of the many fun things about being in the press center at the Masters is watching the old Masters highlight films that are shown throughout the day.

It's a neat look back at the past to see Augusta National and the Masters in the 1960s and 1970s before it became the manicured, pristine place we love today.

Don't get me wrong: Augusta National was the premier place back then, too. But if you look closely, some of the areas off the fairways aren't as smooth as they are today.

The flags weren't always yellow, either. I've seen red, and white, flags on the highlight reels.

Right now they are showing the highlights from 1963. I won't spoil the ending, but my favorite golfer did slip on the green jacket that year.
