Tony Finau earns some Masters crystal with holed bunker shot in first round

It’s only Thursday, but Tony Finau won’t be going home empty-handed.

After sending his approach shot into the greenside bunker at the par-5 15th, Finau jarred the sand shot for an eagle. The Masters Tournament awards each player who records an eagle with a pair of crystal goblets.

The shot drew an ovation from Finau’s wife, Alayna, and propelled him to an opening round 69.

This marks Finau’s third trip to Augusta National. In two previous appearances, he tied for 10th in 2018 and tied for fifth in 2019.
