Charl Schwartzel has tough task to defend title

Schwartzel bogeyed three holes on the back, including No. 18, for 75, his second-worst round in three Masters appearance. At 3-over, he made the cut by two shots. He trails co-leaders Fred Couples and Jason Dufner by eight shots.

The 27-year-old South African struggled off the tee, hitting just seven of 14 fairways. For the second day in a row, he hit just nine of 18 greens in regulation.

Only Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo and Tiger Woods have successfully defended their Masters titles.
