GOOD TIMING: Bryan Brown and Derek McKillop were passing in front of the clubhouse at the right time Sunday to see the past two Masters champions tee off together.

Charl Schwartzel, the 2011 winner, and 2012 champion Bubba Watson began Sunday’s round at 12:20 p.m.

“It’ll be great to see if they make a run. They’re both defending champions, so you want to see them do well,” said Brown, of Evansville, Ind.

“Doesn’t matter whether they are the first or last through, they’re the defending Masters champion,” said McKillop, of Motherwell, Scotland.

DRESS SENSE: For Masters Sunday, Keith Blaney, of Miami, wore a green shirt to honor the green jacket awarded to the winner. Friends and family who have attended the Masters several times gave him tips for his first experience.

“My brother thought it was so important that he picked out what shirt I should wear,” Blaney said.

He drove 10 hours to Augusta to see the famous course.

“I started hyperventilating on No. 11. It was everything I’ve seen on TV,” he said. “The course is the star, even beyond the players.”

EYE-CATCHING: A colorful shirt featuring images of historical Masters badges drew attention to Kevin Fuller, of Nashville, Tenn.

“From far away, it looks like Bozo the Clown until you come up close and see it,” Fuller said.

He bought the shirt five years ago and only wears it once a year at the Masters. It’s stored in the back of his closet until he packs for Augusta.

“It’s nostalgic. You know it’s a legendary event, and you feel proud wearing it,” he said.

SUNNY ATTITUDE: Afternoon rain didn’t ruin Masters Sunday for Lea Gantt and John Roddey, of Chester, S.C.

“Liquid sunshine,” Roddey said.

The couple bought a Masters umbrella in the merchandise shop and huddled beneath it at the ninth green.

“Every year on our day it rains,” Gantt said.

TIME TO SHOP: While most patrons watched the leaders play the final nine, Carson Kohler, of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Bryan Glace, of Abbeville, S.C., bought last-minute souvenirs.

“They had sold out of a lot of stuff,” Glace said. Kohler found the shirt that was on her shopping list.

They planned to eat before switching badges with friends who wanted to watch the final hours of the 2013 Masters.
