Sang-Moon Bae keeps improving at Masters
Sang-Moon Bae isn’t done lowering his scores just yet.
Bae – a Q-school grad – posted one of the better third rounds Saturday, carding 3-under 69 to find red at 1-under 215 for the tournament.
“I’m very happy,” Bae said. “I practiced a little last night and played better than [Friday] – much better.”
After going 75-71 the first two rounds while playing with Tiger Woods and Miguel Angel Jimenez, Bae didn’t waste much time getting a jumpstart to his third round.
He eagled No. 2 – his second eagle of the tournament after his 3 at the 13th on Friday – and birdied four times to help offset three bogeys.
Bae, from South Korea, also needed only 26 putts to complete his third round, never once having a three-putt green.
But can Bae, who lost in a four-man playoff in March at the Transitions Championship, improve his score for the fourth day in a row?
He’s not going to shy away.
“I’m looking forward to [Sunday’s] play,” Bae said. “I will play aggressive. It’s the final round, my first time here.”
