Leishman withdraws from Masters
Marc Leishman withdrew from the Masters Tournament on Wednesday morning.
According to a news bulletin from the tournament, Leishman cited personal reasons for his decision to not play.
Leishman’s wife, Audrey, has been seriously ill and was recently placed in an induced coma, according to the Golf Channel.
“Thanks to an incredible team of doctors and nurses, Audrey appears to be on the road to full recovery and our two young children remain blessed to have the world’s best mum in their lives,” Leishman told the Australian Associated Press. “We ask that you keep Audrey in your thoughts and prayers, and I wish my best to all the competitors for a great 2015 Masters.”
The Australian tied for 4th in the 2013 Masters, but has missed the cut in his other two appearances.
