Youngster hopes to meet idol Jordan Spieth at Masters
Alesha Burke, 11, had a front-row seat at the practice range Wednesday morning, hoping to get a glimpse of her idol, Jordan Spieth.
Alesha, of Memphis, rode to Augusta with her father, Tony, and says she’s getting to skip two days of school.
“It’s my first time being at the Masters and I already love it,” she said. “I hope I can get Jordan’s autograph.”
Tony Burke said the experience is more than he ever imagined.
“To be at Augusta National with my daughter – wow,” he said. “Just wow. I hope she never forgets this moment because I know I won’t.”
The two planned to walk the course with Spieth before venturing to the Par-3 Contest around noon.
“I couldn’t ask for more than this,” Tony said. “We haven’t even set foot on the course yet and I’m already in love with the place.”
