"I just love coming back here every year," Day said. "Just the memories of watching Augusta and knowing one day I wanted to be the Masters champion.

"I always wanted to be the first Australian champion. (Adam Scott) got there first. I'll be happy to be the second."

Day has been off the past six weeks recovering from a thumb injury. He said he got a cortisone shot last Monday and that he has no pain. He said he's taping his thumb as a precaution.
