Lee Westwood finishes strong for another year at Masters
For the fifth consecutive year, Lee Westwood put together four solid rounds, finishing in the top 10 again at the 78th Masters.
Westwood shot 1-over 73 in the final round and finished 1-under and in seventh place. It marked his fourth top-10 finish in five years at Augusta National. He finished tied for 11th in 2011.
Westwood got off to a rough start Sunday with bogey on No. 3 and double bogey on No. 4. He rebounded with three birdies on the second nine, but he was unable to start an early charge.
“I didn’t get off to the start I wanted to,” he said. “Three-over after four, that’s just awful. You’re not going to get into the tournament that way.”
Despite not getting the finish he wanted, Westwood has fared well at Augusta National. He has made 12 of 15 cuts, including eight in a row.
