Charl Schwartzel relaxes by the fire at his home at Blair Atholl Golf Estate near Krugersdorp, South Africa.

Saying "it's not going to happen," Masters Tournament champion Charl Schwartzel said on Wednesday that he won't be grilling out at the annual Tuesday night Champions Dinner, as he had hoped.

Schwartzel had asked Augusta National if he could grill out on the back of the clubhouse (facing the course). He hoped to personally cook lamb chops, steaks, and traditional South African braai.

On Wednesday at the Transitions Championship in Palm Harbor, Fla., Schwartzel said the club is still going to cook his selections, but "I can't do it myself; put it that way.  They are still going to do it but they are going to have a chef doing it."

The Champions Dinner is always held on the second floor of the clubhouse.

"I didn't know what to expect," Schwartzel said of the Champions Dinner and dealing with Augusta National.

"I haven't heard what it's like and I have no knowledge.  So I said, well, I do that full‑time at home, that's something I would like to do. Obviously it's a little different; it's I think a shorter time period.  They do it only in a couple hours.  So they said that it would be nice if we can all just chat more instead of someone cooking and stuff."

Schwartzel was also asked what club he donated to the club, which is a Masters tradition for champions. He said it was the sand wedge he hit into the hole for an eagle 2 on the par-4 third hole in the final round.
